Data Sources
The trusted public agencies and providers that power forecasts, imagery, and astronomy data.
- NOAA / National Weather Service: local forecasts, alerts, observations, and hourly conditions. Radar and model products include NOAA MRMS, HRRR, and NAM, published through the official Blue Dot Weather radar service. See the NWS disclaimer.
- NOAA NESDIS GOES imagery: full-disk Blue Dot satellite imagery.
- U.S. Naval Observatory Astronomical Applications: sun and moon timing data.
- NASA Scientific Visualization Studio Dataset 5587: moon phase imagery visualized by Ernie Wright (USRA), using Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and JPL data. See the complete NASA SVS credits and datasets.
- EPA AirNow: air-quality observations from AirNow and participating federal, state, local, and Tribal agencies. Observations are preliminary and subject to validation. See the AirNow data-use guidelines.
- Open-Meteo: UV, soil moisture, extended forecast, and fallback air-quality data. Air-quality values use CAMS European air-quality forecasts from the CAMS ENSEMBLE data provider. Data are adapted for display by Blue Dot Weather and provided under CC BY 4.0.
- OpenStreetMap contributors: map data and base-map tiles used in radar and weather-station views. See OpenStreetMap copyright and license information.
